Here is a compilation of projects that I have designed for different studios and bands as a freelance creative. The goal has always been to study deeply every client to generate strong concepts. My clients include studios such as Buddy's Garage Records and Son da Lagoa, as well as bands like Rock Place, Rodrigo Mercado, Miniver, Sulcus, R Jon, John Scott, MrGoliath, and Terraplane.
Here is an example illustrating the phases involved in designing one of the logotypes. The aim of this project was to create a memorable logo that accurately represents Miniver, a new indie rock band based in Madrid.
The name of the band comes from the George Orwell novel 1984. Miniver is defined as the minister of truth, but it serves the opposite purpose. For example, if Big Brother, the leader, makes a prediction that turns out to be wrong, the employees of the Ministry of Truth correct the record to make it accurate.
I tried to represent the idea of surveillance drawing an eye that is watching angrily everything that is happening. It is based on a owl eye because they are nocturne animals that are also watching you at night. Moreover because they are associated with knowledge, wisdom and truth in many novels.
Here is a clip that was designed to be used in video intros and social networks advertisements.
