DreamDweller, an intuitive loan calculator

The aim of this personal project is to design a product that can help users know if they are elegible for a loan and how much a bank will lend them to buy their ideal house. Adding this function to a website, a bank can attract new users that are overwhelmed with the process of buying a new house.

Here is a compilation of products that were used as references to develop the website

Messages with opinions of users

I used a MoSCoW to sort tasks by priority. It was useful to highlight the vital product needs and organize functions by priority.

Wireframes

Here is the main structure of the website. Presentation Screen and loan calculator are essential to capture new users. Comparator is the way to have clients but it will not be developed on this project

Main screens of the website

I had some doubts about how to do the main flows so I decided to write down all the options and test them with prototypes before deciding. The main objective was to reduce the number of actions to guide users. This could stand out the website from the competence being a easy-to-use product.

Prototypes

The first prototype was tested with 6 users and some usability and accesibility errors were fixed, but the product was atractive. Here are some important comments during the tests

Test phase user comments

Here is the website prototype developed in the second phase after other similar test with the same users

What I learned

In this project, I wanted to test my abilities to quickly design a functional prototype in order to gather feedback and test it as soon as possible. This decision has proven to be highly beneficial in terms of identifying and addressing any potential errors or non-functioning features at an early stage and continue developing the website being sure about decisions.
